Winterbottom
Wire rightly values its heritage and so do its trading partners.
In fact, some of its earliest customers still trade with the company
today, recognising a commitment to manufacturing and high quality
products. In August 2001 the company returned to private ownership
through a management buyout after spending 30 years within a public
company. Winterbottom Wire was originally established as a carbon
steel wire mill. It continues to produce wire in carbon steels today,
in addition to low alloys, nickel alloys, stainless steel and non-ferrous
metals. Its name has become synonymous with quality, and in confirmation
of this Winterbottom Wire became a Lloyds Register Quality Assured
Company in 1988. Since then the company has extended, developing
niche products for ever more demanding markets, including a successful
move into the profile market in the early 1990's. |
